据中国地震台网正式测定，北京时间7月29日2时41分（当地时间7月29日0时41分）在尼科巴群岛发生6.6级地震，震源深度10公里，震中位于北纬6.65度，东经93.05度。
震中300公里范围内有1座大中城市，最近为班达亚齐（Banda Aceh），距震中约280公里。震中5公里范围内平均海拔约-2171米。
